Product Information

Wales Re-Visited-The Restored Railways Of Britain.

More of the richness and diversity of Welsh steam is celebrated in this, the second of two programmes on the preserved railways of Wales. The Snowdon Mountain Railway, the only rack & pinion railway in the British Isles, climbs the four and three quarter mile track to the summit of Snowdonia at over 3500 feet. At Fairbourne the 12 and a quarter inch gauge locomotives and stock carry passengers out across the rolling sand dunes to the picturesque Barmouth Estuary. The endless variety of Welsh steam is confirmed by the Corris Railway, in the early stages of restoration and Talyllyn, the very birthplace of the railway preservation movement, and we finish with the 23 mile round trip from the seaside resort of Aberystwyth to Devil's Bridge on the vale of Rheidol Railway.
